Organization of event
Panel 1: (3:05 - 4:05)
Gale Moore
Jun Luo and brian Cantwell Smith and Dan Kurtz
Avi Hyman
Stephen Hockema
Jim Hewitt
(each person brings up their wiki page and discusses for 7 minutes - including links to any other pages...)
Possibly address:
-What was the most powerful role of technology in your course?
- Where were you surprised by the success or lack of success?
- What are your goals for the future - your hopeful roadmap.
I know 7 minutes isn't alot of time, but we want to try to have at least 15 minutes for discussion after each panel. Based on our experiences in the previous design meetings, we believe that this discussion will be animated.
Discuss: (3:45 - 4:05)
What new opportunities for student learning did we see occurring in these examples?
What new opportunities for the instructor?
What ideas come up for offering these ideas to the wider UT community?
Panel 2: (4:10 - 5:00)
Jim Slotta
Clare Brett
Frances Garrett
Leslie Chan

Discuss: (4:40 - 5:00)
What new opportunities for student learning did we see occurring in these examples?

Where have we been challenged, in terms of available technologies?
What was exciting, but maybe not nearly as well developed as it could become? Where do we hope to see more progress?

Discussion Summary
Innovations wiki space
Instructors, here is a wiki space to help capture and share our ideas about designing courses to include instruction. The goal is to use technology so that it enables students and instructors to create richer community, to learn in new ways, to maintain persostent "homes" for the course that help it improve from one year to the next, and to advance our knowledge about how to use these new tools and media.
Click on the link below to see some examples in one of the categories. You can add a comment toi any example, or can even add your own experiences by creating a new wiki page (there are instructions for how to do this on the main page of each category).
