Twitter

http://www.twitter.com

1. Twitter is a blend of social networking and personal narrative site where users post the vignettes about their daily lives through SMS, Instant Messaging, and e-mail.

2. Who uses Twitter?
"Connected"youth (those who are digitally in-depth)

3. Advantages

  • Messages are posted real-time from anywhere in the world using different media
  • No down time for posting ideas/innovations
  • Changes the landscape of publishing

4. Disadvantages

  • Writing quality of postings varies depending on media (SMS, e-mail, etc.)
  • Content can often be "fluff"
  • Fad

Thoughts

Twitter may only be a fad, but the potential for it is quite amazing... at anytime you can publish ideas onto a publicly viewable site... inspiration can be instantly available for others to consume, digest, and respond to.
